Biopolymeric Systems Research Group has been established by Prof. Dr. Emir Baki Denkbas in 1999 – 2000 education period.

Group research is focused on biomaterials and nanomedicine. The group has carried out 11 national research project with an infrastructure  value of approximately 500K USD. The group had completed 5 PhD and 22  M Sc thesis past 10 years of research and published more than 40 scientific papers in scientific journals in Science Citation Index.

The group has won the “Best Research Group in Science” award in 2009, given by Hacettepe University.
